Lyre Mantel Clock Item

A superb, highly original, high quality ebony lyre clock and signed on the silvered dial by the maker, Haboud a Toulouse in French, and made in about 1860.Jean-Pierre Haboud was a very famous clockmaker in France at that time. An eight day clock work striking on the half and full hours on a bronze silvered bell and driving at a spring suspension. The clockcase is made of the finest ebony and decorated with fine bronze gilt ornaments. This lyre mantel clock is in original and perfect condition. The steel pierced hands are original. At the bottom of the clock there are bronze gilt ornaments with beautiful mythological figures. The bronze movement is signed on the back with: Etablissement-Barbit de Paris.

The dimensions are Height: 21,5 inches (54.5cm), depth: 6 inches (15 cm) and width: 9 inches (23 cm).
